What would be a good topic for my world history research paper involving politics?

I can pick a topic from any aspect of world history from 1600 AD to the present as long as it's historical in nature. My assignment sheet suggests that it could be about an interesting culture, historical figure, time period, religion, or event.





Lately I've been trying to learn a little bit more about politics, so I think it might be interesting if I choose a topic where I can learn a little bit about politics, too, in the process of writing my paper.

What would be a good topic for my world history research paper involving politics?
How about William Wilberforce, he campaigned for many years in British parliament on the abolition of slavery and the trading of slaves. He faced an uphill struggle against fellow MPs, as most of them were involved in the profits of slavery.
