How does it take from you TO READ and REVIEW a research PAPER?
well, it totally depends on the person, but i'd say anywhere from 1-6 hours. I actually JUST finished reading a research paper that was 12 pages long and it probably took me about 1.5 hours to read. However, if I needed to summarize it and really comprehend everythign that I just read, I'd definitely have to read it again....if I did have to do this, I would write notes on a separate piece of paper (the margin could work too, but I would prefer a separate piece of paper...it would work better for me), writing down the main points of the article. Then, I would read all of the main points I wrote down, and only THEN begin to write my summary. This could be quite a lengthy process.
Reply:It depends on how fast you read and how familiar you are with the subject. I did an experiment my senior year and had to write up a summary of previous research on the top prior to executing my experiment. I'd say it took me on average 2 hours to read each article and highlight/write notes on the important parts. If I were writing a formal summary on it, it probably would've taken me about 3 hours per article.
