How do I begin an introduction for a research paper?
Here is an example using 'yahoo answers' as the topic.

1. Introduce your topic (technology)

2. State or ask your research question. Do homework solutions give students more leisure time?

3. State your thesis. Yahoo answers is a homework solution that gives students more leisure time.

(Intro)

Writing essays was not an easy thing to do for university students in the early twentieth century. Without computers, twenty-four hour on-line libraries, social networking webistes, and/or or Internet data-bases, this task was overwhelming. While the task is no more enjoyable in the information age, it is less time consuming. In this essay I examine several technologies or 'homework solutions' that are said to leave students more time for leisure. Foremost among these technologies is 'Yahoo Answers.'

Body of arguments establish background / support for your thesis.

Yahoo Answers was established in / to ...

It operates as a ....

It provides answers on a ....

Users say that it is ...

Users report that they have cut their time spent on homework in half.

Conclusion - restate your thesis.

Yahoo Answers was established to .... and is ... and therefore.

Have fun!
Reply:INTRODUCTION

The first paragraph includes the introduction and a thesis statement. The introduction should captivate the reader's attention and give an idea of the essay's focus. You may start your essay with an attention-getter such as a bit of fascinating information, captivating dialogue or an interesting fact.
Reply:James Turrell, a known Quaker, is an artist that uses light and shadows as his paints, and canvas. His contemporary works of art are brought to life with his unique style and vision that only he has. He is best known for his work in progress the Roden Crater, where he is using a natural cinder volcanic crater and transforming it to a massive naked-eye observatory which was designed specifically for the viewing of celestial phenomena.

(well try to shake it up a little but this should give you a head start)
Reply:First write your body paragraphs and then it'll be much easier to write the introduction and the conclusion. ;)
