I need to critique a research paper?

I have never critiqued a paper and am having a hard time doing so. I have spent several hours w/my Professor, but I just don't get it. She has put an outline of some sort for us to follow but it makes no sense, it's as if she want's the research article all over again help please!

I need to critique a research paper?
there are many things u could write about, try to think about what these guys may have donw wrong in the research, or what u think are some good parts of it. a research usually has 5 main parts, theory, design, implementation, analysis and discussion. Do u think the subject was well investigated before the research started? do u think there are enough references in it? do u think it is based on reliable elements? do u think the researh design is good to address the issue in question? do u think this design or research method actually answers the question or hypothesis? do u think the method is reliable enough? are there other possible methods u could use to make this research? what other methods do u think would be more suitable? why? what about the sample method? were there enough "subjects" for the research? see this in relation to the purpose of the research, if the method is good enough to address the purpose. for example a research that aims to generalise should have a very big sample, if a research aims to analyse a kind of new field then perhaps a method that goes deeper into things and does not have a very big sample may be better. are there any errors in its implementation? are there any errors in tis analysis? is there another way to analyse the data u have collected? which way do u think is better for the purpose of the research? does it offer something finally? something new in the field? how can its findings be implemented?

these are only a few questions that come in my mind, i hope they make u understand better the outline your teacher gave u. however in order to critique a research u should know some basics abour research methods, so i guess u can not avoid reading your book first, it will make u see things clearer then :)

good luck!
Reply:This is what the Prof wants you to do.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS

The purpose for writing a critique is to evaluate somebody's work (a book, an essay, a movie, a painting...) in order to increase the reader's understanding of it. A critical analysis is subjective writing because it expresses the writer's opinion or evaluation of a text. Analysis means to break down and study the parts. Writing a critical paper requires two steps: critical reading and critical writing.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS

If your instructor has asked you to write a critical analysis for class, you probably have some questions. Let’s discuss first what a critical analysis is not. A critical analysis is not
