Can someone help me understand on how to cite a research paper?

I still don't understand. This is my assessment of it all; we basically write a paper about your topic in your own words. Then if you use a line out of a book or article that corresponds to what you are writing, you add the line in and put the author and page number in parentheses after. And then I know how to do the bibliography at the end.

Am I correct on how to do this?

yeah youre doing it right, i got so many packets on MLA format last year--try looking at their website if you get stuck or email me and i'll help

for the bib- use easybib.com, it does it for you if you have all the info (you can leave some parts blank if you dont have them)
