What is a good topic to do my research paper on for my marketing class in my MBA program?

I am taking Marketing this semester in graduate school. I have only previously taken one marketing class, in my undergraduate program, which was a survey class. There were no in depth discussions of any topics. I need a topic that I can do research on and enjoy, which may actually be impossible (since I'm an accountant) and have absolutely no interest in Marketing. All help is very much appreciated.

What is a good topic to do my research paper on for my marketing class in my MBA program?
Do something on pricing and the effects it has on a brand.

Ie Does pricing a Jetta higher than a G6 do more to build the VW brand than the Pontiac Brand?
Reply:marrying economics, behaviour (including status anxiety), and decision theory amongst singaporeans would be a great thesis - and a great starting point for a book.

i would do that if I were taking my MBA.
Reply:well... you wont like Marketing but there are some similarities between accounting and marketing, why dont you do a survey on "the effects of online marketing on commercial banks" seems to be an easy topic and since u work in a bank if i am correct, you will get lots of inputs from your survey... GOODLUCK!!!
Reply:There are a ton of options....

Go through the chapters of your text, you could do it on any one of those.

Viral Marketing, Subliminal Advertising, Subliminal messages, are all very interesting. I would try incorporate these with each other or how they can relate to behavior, or purchase decision, etc. Mainly due to the fact that it can be difficult to find an abundance of books on say Subliminal Advertising alone.

You will find interesting stories of Coca-Cola and Disney using subliminal messages and subliminal advertising.

Viral marketing is the marketing of one consumer to another without the knowledge of the one being marketed to. My old professor used the example of someone handing you a camera in a public place asking you to take a pic of he and his wife, as he hands it to you he expresses some type of excitement about it in the ease of use or the great digital qualty. This physically puts the product in a consumer's hands. I always found Viral Marketing to be interesting.

The study of Aesthetics* can be interesting and apply to somewhat subliminal. The sound of rain in the vegtable section, or cows mooing in the milk section. You could find and use some examples of the use of aesthietics affecting purchase decision and behavior.

Good Luck dude, let me know if you decide one of these topics.
Reply:alternative fuels and fuel conversion kit for autos
