I am trying to decide on a topic for a research paper for a Social Science English class?

What are some ideas for good topics? They can be based on issues you would want to know about and that you find interesting, societal problems (women's issues, race etc), anything that would be able to write a decent research paper. I am open to any suggestions. This is for an advanced college level english class by the way.
