Andrew Jackson was a self-made man who was orphaned at an early age. He was the first Westerner (from Tennessee). I would use the theme for the paper as being that his hardships as a youth (as a boy he fought in the American Revolution) created the ideals and wisdom to become the most famous President between Jefferson and Lincoln.
Reply:Andrew Jackson was considered the first president to be for the "common man" or something along those lines.
