I have to write a paper on any literature, it is a 5 page research paper. Any good short story or book ideas?

So for my critical writing and literary analysis class i have to write a 5 page research paper on any literature. i have to include a bio of the author and use in-text citations. I need to use critical breakdowns like deconstruction, new criticism, psychological criticism, reader-response criticism and historical and cultural criticism. Any ideas of interesting short stories, poems, plays or other lit? I want something out of the ordinary and something easy to comprehend. any help would be awesome!!!!!

2. "The Scarlet Plague" by Jack London





These stories are not mainstream popular, but are good reads! Lots of information on the stories and the authors available on the internet (especially through Wiki).

"A Farewell to Arms" by Earnest Hemmingway

Reply:If you're looking for something easy, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger is a great book. It's not that bad of a read. If you do choose this book, make sure to take notice of how the main character classifies women as innocent or experienced. It'll help you with the analysis.
Reply:Faranheit 451 is a great book for all that. Short, and if you get the right book it comes with an interveiw of the author in the back.
