How do I rewrite my research paper with a persuasive tone?

I wrote my paper, a good 60 pages long, and wrote it in a very journalistic manner, presented the facts with unbiased wording. I presented both sides of the argument, as I've read should be done. Are some research papers supposed to be convincing, like a sales pitch?

Any personal advice or a link directly to a resource that explains the persuasive tone would be great.

my college does not have instructors, we study at our own pace, learn the materials on our own, turn it in, get it back, and do it again and again till we get it right. The comments on tone read as follows: "As per the task directions, the research paper should be written in a persuasive tone. The author needs to revise following the task directions."

There are no task directions mentioning persuasive tone...its new to me....

Research papers aren't suppost to have a persuasive tone. You don't need to persuade anyone of the research, it's just a presentation of facts....

But you could try it! :)

Here's a link to some tips on doing it. Write it in the third person.
