Any great info about going into the US Coast Guard For Research Paper?
gocoastguard.com is the "recruting" site
but to find better information on history, news and missions go to www.uscg.mil that is the official site. search the career paths (a lot more than people think) and look on the front page for recent news on rescues....and how the navy uses our footage in there recruiting films??

How does it take from you TO READ and REVIEW a research PAPER?
a paper of 15-20 pages in avarege... How much time do you need to read it and apprehend it and review it.. or summarize it?
How does it take from you TO READ and REVIEW a research PAPER?
well, it totally depends on the person, but i'd say anywhere from 1-6 hours. I actually JUST finished reading a research paper that was 12 pages long and it probably took me about 1.5 hours to read. However, if I needed to summarize it and really comprehend everythign that I just read, I'd definitely have to read it again....if I did have to do this, I would write notes on a separate piece of paper (the margin could work too, but I would prefer a separate piece of paper...it would work better for me), writing down the main points of the article. Then, I would read all of the main points I wrote down, and only THEN begin to write my summary. This could be quite a lengthy process.
Reply:It depends on how fast you read and how familiar you are with the subject. I did an experiment my senior year and had to write up a summary of previous research on the top prior to executing my experiment. I'd say it took me on average 2 hours to read each article and highlight/write notes on the important parts. If I were writing a formal summary on it, it probably would've taken me about 3 hours per article.

Historical Figure Research Paper?
I have to do a research paper on a historical figure, and I have no idea on what person to write about. Got any ideas?
Historical Figure Research Paper?
Pick a woman that did something. Sally Ride, the first female astronaut, Catherine the Great of Russia, Hasheput.
Reply:Isn't there someone you've read about who interested you? It'll be easier if you write about someone you admire than just randomly picking someone.
For instance, I always admired strong women who lived during times when women were oppressed. I did a paper on Harriet Tubman, a black woman who saved 300 slaves by sneaking them from the South to the North in the Undersround Raiload. There's was a lot written about her so it was a fairly easy paper to write. Good luck
Reply:Yes, do one on Nikola Tesla, arguably the greatest mind to ever exist in this country and the individual who developed Alternating Current Electrical sources for our access to electricity.
His patents and develops are astounding.
Reply:My favorite historical figure was Teddy Roosevelt. He did a large number of good things. Such as starting the national parks and other forms of conservation. He was also a war hero and a well liked person.
Reply:Valentina Tereshkova - the first woman in space

Whats the best non-american person i can do a research paper on? They have to be from the 1800s to present.?
how about Hitler. Lots of info available, and interesting study in the cult of personality, and how an evil person can gain massive influence in a society.

Reply:me i was born in 1857..january 1st im 150 years old..i have a great life..im very active and i work for Intel hahah jk..
no i wud pick some1 that had a hard/interesting life like hitler, one of the presidents(not bush, hes a dick), JFK wud b cook but idk, there 1000's of interesting people out there
have fun!
Reply:Here's an interesting one - Charlie Chaplin. People today know who he is, but they don't know a lot about him. I discovered him a couple of years ago and he has one of the most interesting lives/careers of anyone in history. Plus watching some of his films will put a smile on your face. He was born in 1889 in London, England. He died 1977 in Switzerland on Christmas day. Even though he's not American, he did live and work in Hollywood for nearly 40 years. During the early 20th century he was the most famous man in the world - and his films are truly funny, not stupid slapstick like most people think. I know his life story, so if you want any help, I'll be happy to give it. Email me if you want: trylikeafool@gmail.com.

Need help with research paper due in two days?
What you have sounds good. I'm not an English major, so I'm afraid I'm not very good with outlines, but I was wondering if your restrictions include quarantines in the last centuries. I'm talking about places like Ellis Island in the US and Grosse Ile in Canada.
That might be interesting to talk about.
Hope that helps!
